Harold John Walters was born Aug. 19, 1913 to Albert A. and Mary Cecelia Markwardt Walters. He died Jan. 19, 1943 and is buried in Hubbard Cemetery, Hubbard, IA. 

Petty Officer Walters served in World War II with the U.S. Navy Seabees.

Robert William Wear was born Jan. 19, 1922 to Deloss Robert and Eva May Zufall Wear. He died Aug. 25, 1944 and is buried in Rhone American Cemetery, Draguignan, France.

Pvt. Wear served in World War II with the U.S. Army 141st Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.

Lawrence Arthur Whinery was born Jan. 2, 1921 to Samuel L. and Flora Maude “Maude” Nichols Whinery. He died July 28, 1982 and is buried in Union Cemetery, Union, IA.

Lawrence served in World War II with the U.S. Navy.

George served in World War II with the U.S. Navy USS LST-504, USS LST Flotilla No. 1 and USS LST Flotilla No. 10.

James Richard Winter was born July 21, 1925 to William and Bessie Mae Smith Winter. He died Mar. 14, 2015 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Petty Officer Winter served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Horatio Cornick Woodhouse, Jr. was born Aug. 27, 1913 to Horatio Cornick (Sr.) and Jennie May Macon Woodhouse. He died May 30, 1945 and is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was initially buried in the 6th Division Cemetery on Okinawa and returned to the U.S. in 1949.

Lt. Col. Woodhouse served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps and served as Commanding Officer, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Marines, 6th Marine Division on Guadalcanal after the Guam campaign. He participated in combat operations on Okinawa where he was KIA and was awarded the Silver Star.
