Peter W. Gordish, Jr. was born Sept. 18, 1919 to Peter (Sr.) and Anna Cashtalan Gordish. He died Dec. 15, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer Gordish served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Pecos (AO-6) and was MIA/FOD/KIA when that vessel was bombed by enemy planes and sank in the open sea south of Java. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
