Richard Wayne Suesens was born Apr. 30, 1915 to John Frederick and Martha Sophia Durand Suesens. He died June 4, 1942 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 2, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii
Lt. (jg) Suesens served in World War II with Torpedo Squadron Three (VT-3) aboard the USS Saratoga (CV-3). After the Saratoga was torpedoed his air group was transferred to the USS Yorktown (CV-5) and he was MIA//FOD during the “Air Battle of Midway”. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Navy Cross and the USS Richard Wayne Suesens (DE-342) was named after the lieutenant.

John Frank “Tom” Suesens was born Apr. 3, 1919 to John Frederick and Martha Sophia Durand Suesens. He died Feb. 1, 1968 and is buried in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Vancouver, WA.
Lt. Suesens served in World War II with the U.S. Naval Air Corps.

James Harold Suman was born Apr. 6, 1924 to Harold I. and Grace Marie McInerny Suman. He died Jan. 24, 1945 and is buried in Saint Marys Catholic Cemetery, West Burlington, IA.
Pvt. Suman served in World War II with the U.S. Army and died of wounds received in action in Belgium while serving his country.

Frederick Herman “Fred” Suntken was born Jan. 12, 1920 to William J. and Gerdine Shipper Suntken. He died Dec. 22, 2003 and is buried in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, IA.
Fred served in World War II with the U.S. Army.
