Sgt. Breuer served in World War II with the U.S. Army 1201 Engineering Firefighting Platoon and died of acute inflammation of the pancreas and was buried in an American military cemetery in Naples, Italy and later returned to the U.S.

Wayne Willis Brewer was born Jan. 13, 1922 to William and Mazel Anna Meihan Brewer. He died Mar. 26, 2004 and is buried in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, IA.

George Howard Briear was born Aug. 10, 1922 to Robert Howard and Arena Elizabeth Wade Briear. He died Feb. 2, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer Briear served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS De Haven (DD-469) which was assigned to Capt. R.P. Briscoe’s “Cactus Striking Force”, which operated from the Guadalcanal area, where she was bombed and sank. He was MIA/FOD/KIA and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Calvin Lee Brissey was born Aug. 13, 1924 to James Garrett and Ruth Elizabeth Bigler Brissey. He died June 15, 1944 and is buried in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, IA.
Pvt. Brissey served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 23rd Marines, 4th Marine Division. He was KIA the first day of the invasion of Saipan. He was hit by a sniper’s bullet, and as he was awaiting evacuation to a hospital, he was killed by a mortar shell. Four of the 5 men of his machine gun crew were killed. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Presidential Citation and the Asiatic-Pacific ribbon with 2 battle stars.
