Frank Alden Druyor was born Sept. 18, 1923 to Clement A. and Bessie Sussannah Hinds Druyor. He died Dec. 24, 2010 and is buried in Bay Pines National Cemetery, Bay Pines, FL.

Col. Druyor served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 283rd Field Artillery Battalion. He also served in Korea and Vietnam. Flying was his passion in the Army - from a Piper Cub between the front lines directing artillery (he was the first to arrive at Dachau Concentration Camp as Germans were leaving, (landing on the road in front of the last vehicle before the tanks arrived); to bubble top helicopters in Korea, then the Huey Helicopter in Vietnam. He will be remembered as a “Master Aviator”.
