William Daniel Yavorsky was born May 28, 1910 to George W. and Sadie Egan Yavorsky. He died Oct. 18, 1946 and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine, IA.
CDR Yavorsky served with the U.S. Navy in World War II. His last service was aboard the USS Boxer (CV-21) for duty involving flying. He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars.
