Robert W. Kneeland was born Dec. 5 , 1924 to William Arthur “Bill” and Helen Catherine Waters Kneeland. He died Dec. 2, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Postville Cemetery, Clayton County, IA.
2nd Lt. Kneeland served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a bombardier/navigator on B-25J #43-36099, 500th Bomber Squadron, 345th Bomber Group, Medium and became MIA while trying to get into formation with other B-25’s and hit “prop wash” and couldn’t recover which caused them to crash into the sea. He was awarded the Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster.

James Martin Kneeskern was born July 24, 1918 to William L. and Jane J. Roths Kneeskern. He died Dec. 8, 1988 and is buried in Fort Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso, TX.
MSgt. Kneeskern served in World War II with the U.S. Army Infantry in Iceland, England and France where he was WIA. He also served in Korea and Vietnam.
