Cunningham Brothers Meet In New Guinea

Rea and Carlyle Cunningham

MEET IN NEW GUINEA —Two brothers, former Globe-Gazette
carrier boys at Rockford, enjoyed several days together
when they met on the island of New Guinea.

Carlyle Cunningham was commissioned 2nd lieutenant
the anti-aircraft artillery in Australia Jan. 29, 1945.

Rea E. Cunningham, seaman 2/c, is also in the southwest Pacific
having gone overseas in May, 1944.

They are sons of Mr and Mrs. C. J. Cunningham of Rockford.

NOTE: Carlyle was born 29 October 1921 and died on 16 January 2003, residing in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.

Rea was born 17 August 1925 and died on 04 October 1995, residing in Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, Iowa).
