Frederic Beck of the Town of Elkport County of Clayton in the State of Iowa on this 1st day of September in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy nine personally appeared before me the undersigned a notary public for the County and State above mentioned. Frederic Beck who being duly sworn according to law declares that he is the identical Frederick Beck who was a private in the Company Commanded by Captain Charles Bruno in the Regiment 17th Mo Infty Comanded by ... that he enlisted on the first day of October 1861 for the term of three years and was discharged at St Louis Mo on the 15th day of December 1864 by reason of expiration of term of service.
