Listing of People Interred in the Mausoleum


The information and table below is from research done by Glenn Fleming for the Cass County Genealogical Society (CCGS), and is on file in the Genealogy Room at the Atlantic Public Library. That research includes multiple pages of references to the mausoleum in local newspapers. The final two references, below, describe the removal and razing of the mausoleum in 1968.

Atlantic News Telegraph, January 31, 1968: Bodies removed. All of the bodies have been removed from the mausoleum and interred elsewhere in the cemetery according to J. H. Stahly secretary of the Atlantic Cemetery Association. The old building will be razed as soon as a contract is awarded and the area will be developed into a memory garden burial plot.

Atlantic News Telegraph, February 24, 1968: The John Goold Company of Atlantic is tearing down the mausoleum at the Atlantic Cemetery. The building was 109' long by 33' wide.
