Augusta Edith Stryker Emerick
23 January 1881 --- 26 January 1973Last rites for Mrs. Augusta Emerick
Mrs. Augusta Emerick, 92, died at the Rotary Ann Home Friday morning after a long illness. She had been a resident of the home for several years in her own room, and a short time ago was moved to the infirmary.Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the United Church of Christ in charge of Rev. Emmett Braselton. Burial was in the family lot in Troy Township Cemetery, south of Eagle Grove.
Mrs. Emerick is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harlan Toillion, Eagle Grove, Mrs. Earl M. Knutson, Boone, six grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Mrs. Emerick was one of the pioneer Stryker family, and was born in Troy Township. She attended the Troy Township schools and in 1905 was married to Lawrence Emerick. They farmed south of Eagle Grove until 1918 when they moved to their home on South Park Ave., Eagle Grove. Mr. Emerick preceded her in death.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Troy Culture Club.
