Thank you for responding..my answers are embedded below..
Need a little more information to possibly help you.
What is her exact date of birth?
We don’t know. Just 1898 is all we know.approximate age she was adopted?
We are not sure. We believe her adopted name was Hopkins. The 1910 Census shows her living in DuPage, Il, as the 12 year old niece of
Margaret Lillian Tait French. This is a new name we have never heard of. We have not found her in the 1900 census. The names of
the parents who raised her?
Don’t know. The name of her husband?
Joseph C. BlackDo you believe she was
born in Iowa?
We thought she was born in Chicago but then we found the picture of her at about 18 months old made by the photography studio of Schaefer Sisters, Clarion, Iowa. If this beautiful studio picture was made of her at such a young age in Clarion, Iowa, (and she was cute and well-dressed) it seems possible that perhaps she was from Iowa and then ended up in Illinois,in Wright County? Any idea about the Schaefer sisters? What was
her religion?
Her son said they were not religious and did not attend church. How is the surname Black connected?
Married nameAdopted name?
We think Hopkins
