I am not related but i did some checking. Here is waht I found:
Search for James A. Adams and family and parents of Mona Waldo
James Arthur b. Aug 1881 found in Danbury, Woodbury, IA in 1900 census(Liston twp) on FamilySearch Record search @ familysearch.org. FA was James b. Apr 1848 PA his parents b. IR and IR. He was a farmer and owned land. MO was Mary e. Adams b OH Jul 1849. Her parents b. OH.
Daughter Nancy M. Oct 1877 IA, Edna Sep 1879, James A. Aug 1881, Joseph W. Mar 1883, Manford Apr 1885 and Eleanor May 1888.
James,71, Mary E. Adams, 70 and his bro. Uriah in Frontier, NE in 1920 census. No children living in this household. Several of the sons apparently settled in this same community. No additional finds were made for James A. Adams in this very cursory search.
Uriah is found in 1880 in Waterford , Clinton Iowa with his wife , children and mother Sarah Adams (age 70 b. IR) .James Adams and family were in Danbury, Woodbury, IA in 1880.
Donna Rogers Bolzdahl submitted an Ancestral file to the LDS Church (Familysearch.org) in 1997 that seems to include this family or at least portions of it. This would be a valuable contact since this is a pedigree linked file and therefore shows relationships. She includes James and Sarah the parents of Uriah and James, the father of James A. and therefore likely the immigrant generation for the Adams.
Mono Waldo is a bit more problematic. There are two Mono Waldo’s in the 1900 census of about the same age. One is in Anthon, Woodbury born Jan 1882. Brother Elton and sister Lethe and Fa Herman and mo. Ada. The other is a boarder in the household of Philo Sleazer in Miller and Morgan twp in Woodbury. She was b. Apr 1881. A death certificate would help clear up this or other statement of her birthdate.
Two Waldo families live in Woodbury in 1900 but connections are not yet known.
