Ronald “Ronnie” I. Copple, aged 86, of Sloan, Iowa, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa.

A private family memorial graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery of Sioux City, Iowa with Dr. Emery Killian, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Ronnie was born on April 29, 1938, in Sloan, Iowa, the son of Ira and Leta “Toots” (Gulick) Copple. Ronnie and Bev were united in marriage on June 18, 1967, in Sloan, Iowa.

Ronnie farmed in the Salix area for almost seventy years. He was a member of Community Church of Christ of Sloan and The Sons of The American Legion Emery Johnson Squadron #481 of Whiting. He spent a lot of time watching birds, yelling at squirrels and attending Westwood events. He will be greatly missed by his grand dogs, Riley and Miracle Copple.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Bev Copple of Sloan, Iowa; their children, Rod (Melissa) Copple of Ames, Iowa and Michelle Copple of Salix, Iowa; grandchildren, Jessica, Paige (Collin Trent), Josiah and Paityn; sister, Twila Copple of Sloan, Iowa; in-laws, James Dean, Chris (Mike) Williams, Mike Dean, Denise Lestor and Greg (Gwyn) Dean, Roberta Kelly, Bill Johnson, and Vicky Copple; and several nieces and nephews, plus numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Leta “Toots” (Gulick) Copple; and siblings, Jack Copple, Janet Van Auken, Sally (Don) Maddox, Sharon Johnson, Benny Copple and Gil Copple.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Burgess Foundation in Onawa, Iowa, in appreciation of their staff; Community Church of Christ of Sloan, Iowa to support youth Sunday School; or American Legion of Iowa Foundation in Des Moines, Iowa to support youth programs.
