Robert "Bob" James Reeg

December 5, 1945 - January 26, 2024

SIOUX CITY - Robert "Bob" James Reeg, age 79, passed away on January 26, 2024, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Robert was born on December 5, 1945 at Wayne, Nebraska to Walter and Martha Reeg. He was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayne, Nebraska. He joined the Army National Guard and served from July 1964 to July 1969 and was ranked as a Specialist E-6 with an honorable discharge.

Robert worked at the Sioux City Stockyards before becoming a truck driver working at UPS, Palmer Candy, and approximately 25 years at Hawkeye Building Supply. He married Debra Jean Badgerow on December 10, 1977 in LeMars, Iowa. They moved to Arkansas in 1999 and worked at ABC Bricks, Bergman Elementary School as a janitor, Terminex, and the Daily Times before retiring due to disability.

Robert is survived by his wife, Debra Reeg; his children, David (Kathy) Reeg, of Minnesota and Melinda (Keith) Kuhlers, of South Dakota; grandchildren, Leighton and Kajin Kuhlers, of South Dakota; sisters-in-law, Alice Reeg, of Iowa, Judy Muecke, of Texas, and Myrna Badgerow, of Louisiana; special friend, Allen Hough; and many other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Martha Reeg; brothers, Jerry and Melvin Reeg; son, Daniel Reeg; sister-in-law, Bonnie Evans; and brothers-in-law, Bruce Badgerow, John Badgerow, and Roger Muecke.

Robert enjoyed camping, boating, and being with his family. Health issues caused limitations with traveling. He dearly loved his grandchildren, Leighton and Kajin and all of their accomplishments.
