March 10, 1941 - May 11, 2024

SIOUX CITY - Barbara Kay "Barb" Frese, 83, of Sioux City, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on May 11, 2024 at her residence in the comforting presence of her family.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Barb was born March 10, 1941, in Anthon, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Florence (Petersen) Jahn. Barb graduated from Anthon-Oto High School. She married Ralph Frese on May 12, 1971, in Sioux City. After starting a family, Barb embarked on the fulfilling journey as a mother and awesome homemaker before transitioning into the clerical field. Throughout her career, she made significant contributions while working at Berenstein Law Firm, Continental Insurance, and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Barb was known for her vibrant personality – characterized by qualities of warmth, care, and an unwavering love for her family. Her interests included golfing, passionately supporting the Iowa Hawkeyes, indulging in game shows, savoring visits to the Hard Rock in Sioux City, and supporting her children and grandchildren and their activities and endeavors.

In the hearts of those who survive her, Barb leaves a lasting legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted husband Ralph Frese; her children: Traci (Steve) McTaggart of Tampa, FL and Troy Frese of Sioux City; her grandchildren: Hunter, Haley, Hope, and Harrison McTaggart and Sydney Frese; as well as her brothers: Harold Jahn of Sioux City, Kenneth "Dutch" (JoAnn) Jahn of Moville, IA, and James Jahn of Dallas, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Florence Jahn, and a sister Beverly Frederickson.

Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with kindness and love. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she was deeply cherished and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
