With deep regret and sadness Ridgeway friends learned of the death of Mr. Chris Haakenson at Decorah last Friday. He has been in declining health for the past month. The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon. The grief stricken ones have the sympathy of their many friends in this community.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1856 and died Oct. 17, 1919. He is buried in the Lutheran Decorah Cemetery.
