It appears that you are seeking the barber, George Henry Dodd [January 1865 - August 5, 1951] and not Daniel Dodd. George Henry Dodd was previously married to Mahala Bailey who died June 17, 1900 in Illinois. From Pocahontas County, Iowa marriage records, George Henry Dodd married Inez Newland on June 1, 1901. They had a son, Ray George Dodd on July 3, 1901. They are enumerated in 1910 in Plymouth County, Iowa; they are enumerated along with son, Harry Albert Dodd in Pioneer Township, Humboldt County, Iowa in 1915; George Dodd is listed as a widower in 1920 living in Boone County, Iowa. However, his obituary only says he was preceded in death by his first wife. Ray's WW I draft registration from Fort Dodge lists his mother, Inez Dodd. According to Grove Hill Cemetery records in Whiteside County, Illinois, George Henry Dodd died on August 5, 1951. Here is his obituary:
George Dodd, Barber, Dies
George Henry Dodd, 86, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday at the Whiteside County Nursing home after an illness of one year. He had been at the home for three years. The body was taken to the Reynolds funeral home where funeral arrangements are pending arrival of relatives. Mr. Dodd was a barber by trade and had worked in Erie, Albany and Morrison. He was born in Coal Valley, Ill., and was married in October, 1889, to Mahala Bailey who died June 17, 1900. He was remarried in 1901 to Inez Newland. Mr. Dodd was a member of IOOF at Fulton, Co. I of the National Guard, the Knights of Pythias at Ames, Iowa, where he was living before entering the nursing home, and of the Morrison Baptist church.
Mr. Dodd is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Allen Albee of Newton, Iowa; two sons, Harry Albert of Kentland, Ind., and Ray George of Cherokee, Iowa; several grandchildren. Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Harold, a daughter Bell Dodd; four brothers, Charles, William, Lewis and Frank; and three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Savage, Ellamae Birely and Rozella Victoria. Burial will be in Grove Hill cemetery.
