Jurene Miller, 65, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011, at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center.
A celebration of Jurene's life is being planned for late-January.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Thelma (Hoover) Miller.
Jurene was born on September 24, 1946 to Kenneth and Thelma Miller. She remembered growing up on the farm west of Lohrville, the fourth of seven children, as a carefree and delightful part of her life. She felt each day was a new adventure with her friends and neighbors.
Jurene graduated from Lohrville High School in 1964. Her class has maintained contact through the years, and many of her classmates wrote and visited Jurene during her illness. After graduation, Jurene went on to business school, worked for the state, held several managerial positions at Heartland and finished her career by starting her own business, Willow Lane Enterprises.
A stroke and the effects of Parkinson's necessitated Jurene entering Villa Care Center in 2010 where she was well taken care of by the loving, capable staff and her family. She especially enjoyed traveling to Disney World taking and paying for those less fortunate to experience the magic.
What made Jurene happy were holidays, designing themed parties, reading, games, classic movies and talking politics. At Christmas time she always decorated her home and later her room at Villa with festive, magical beauty.
Jurene is survived by Janet (Gary) Hawthorne, Jane (Lyle) Taiber, Joan (Bob) Luchtel, Jon Miller, Jolene Pfaff and Ginger (Steve) Nekvinda.
She loved Jane (Parker) Cline, Kathy (Gorman) Vonnahme and Karen (Gorman) Poolman as sisters as well.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
