Pearl E. Zeka, age 92, of Fort Dodge died Monday, January 23, 2006 at The Marian Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Kurtenbach officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of service Wednesday at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
She is survived by her three children: Evelyn (Mrs. Dean) Grandgeorge of Woolstock, IA; William J. and his wife Lois Zeka of Fort Dodge, IA and Donald B. and his wife Sue Zeka of Fort Dodge, IA; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Gladys Ewing of Webster City, IA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Zeka Jr.; her parents, William and Anna (Billings) Ewing; brothers, Earl, Clifford, Glen, Carl, William J., and Verl; sisters, Nellie and Grace; and one great grandchild.
Pearl Evelyn Ewing was born February 28, 1913 in Duncombe, Iowa and in 1930 graduated from Duncombe High School. On June 25, 1932 she married Joseph Zeka Jr. in Fort Dodge. After their marriage the couple made Fort Dodge their home. Joseph died February 16, 2000 and after his death she continued to make Fort Dodge her home. In December of 2004, Pearl moved into The Marian Home in Fort Dodge.
She was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge.
