Aged Iowa Postmaster Dead

Des Moines, Ia. June 21-Nathan G. Roosa, the oldest postmaster in Iowa, is dead at Border Plaines, aged 80 years. He was appointed by President Lincoln, and had served continuously since, being recently reappointed by Roosevelt. He was prominent in politics in pioneer days in Iowa, and was one of the originators of a stage line operating between Dubuque and Sioux City.
