PACKWOOD - C. Howard Pepper, 69, well-known resident of the Packwood community, died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield where he had been admitted earlier in the day.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Packwood Christian Church with the Rev. Donald Harbour officiating. Interment will be in Friends Cemetery at Richland. Masonic services will be in charge of the Richland Lodge.
The casket will be taken from the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield to the church in Packwood at 11 a.m. Friday.
C. Howard Pepper was born April 16, 1907, in Washington County. He was the son of Arthur and Carrie Dickinson Pepper and was reared and educated in Richland.
He was married Jan. 22, 1930, to Margaret Lundquist in Fairfield. Pepper, a retired farmer, was a member of the Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge at Richland.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by a son, Clifford, Packwood; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Floyd Smith, Richland; and two brothers, Harold, Keota, and Walter, Richland. He was preceded in death by a half-brother.
