BRIGHTON Larry L. Hanshaw, 51, of Brighton, died early Saturday morning at Washington County Hospital.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Plain Friends Cemetery. Visitation is open at the funeral home. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the family home. A memorial has been established.
Hanshaw was born Jan. e, 1941, at Pleasant Plain, the son of Albert and Frances Inez Pickering Hanshaw. He graduated from Pleasant Plain High School in 1959. On May 19, 1961, he married Virginia Knight in Brighton. He worked for Rockwell International in Fairfield for 29 years. He was a member of First Church of God at Brighton, where he was a Sunday school superintendent for many years and a youth leader.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Kim Schreffler of Birmingham; two sons, Larry jr. and Terry both of Pleasant Plain; five grandchildren; his father of Chillicothe; two sisters, Janet Crosby of Pleasant Plain, Carma Pringle of Brighton; three brothers, Jim of Bloomington, Ill., Jerry of Salem and Eugene of Pleasant Plain. His mother preceded him in death.
