My grandmother was Lillian Irene Churchman born to John and Catherine Churchman on 11/13/1886 on a farm in Iowa near Des Moines. Her grandfather was also named John Churchman, whose family name was Kirschner (German for church). I believe his siblings names were Lizzie, Susan, and Mike. Mike's grandson was Father Michael Churchman, the pastor of Churchville. I've been told that Churchville was named after my grandmother's family. Perhaps related to the John Micheal Churchman you are searching for?
