Thanks for the prompt reply! You are correct that Mary Boyd Christie was born in OH. I knew that!

The history is indeed intriguing... I note that Mary (Boyd) was born in OH and that the first Boyd child (Stephen b:1840) was also born in OH.

I also note that James Christy was born in PA, but moved next to OH, removing to IA in 1840.

Similarly, the Boyd family (i.e. Mary Boyd and her husband) removed to IA after 2/1840 when their first child, Stephen was born in OH.

We could connect the dots and say that it is possible that James Christy knew a Boyd in OH where he was probably married and had children Elizabeth Boyd, Thomas and Mary Jane (plus others).

We also know that the wife of James Christy died in 1847 per your obit and that ?? Boyd, husband of Mary Boyd also died or left prior to 1848 when she married James Christy.

My interest is in what happened to the other Boyd's who were sons of Mary Boyd Christie (Stephen b: OH 1840 and John b: IA 1842)...

It would be exciting if my wife's family could connect with their offspring if they are still around.
