Zua Frances Baker, 90, Ottumwa died Tuesday, August 29, 1989 at the Ottumwa Reginal(err) Health Center. She was born November 27, 1898 in Hedrick to William H. and Jessie Sheets Bottorff. She had lived in Wapello County all her life. She was a member of the Kirkville United Methodist Church. On February 7, 1916 in Ottumwa she married Noel C. Baker. He died December 1, 1979.
Surviving are six sons: Bill, Roger, Jerry and David, all of Ottumwa, Dick of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Jim of Kirkville; five daughters, Joanne Tortat of Keosauqua, Jake Baker and Jean Galpin of Ottumwa; Beverly Coleman of Hedrick; and Mary Davis of Centerville; twenty grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Bob and Jack and one daughter, Betty who died in infancy.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 1989 at the Fremont Funeral Chapel with Rev. Stanley Reiley officiating. Burial was in McCormick Cemetery near Highland Center.
Memorials may be made to the First Church of God in Ottumwa.
