Funeral services were held March 21, 1989, at the Bethel Church of Iowa Falls for Ogal O. Sapp, 64, who died at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, March 17. Interment was at the Eldora Cemetery with Rev. Steven Hill officiating.
He was born Nov. 23, 1924 at Penneville, Mo., to Henry and Leona McGill Sapp. He graduated from the Eldora High School and the Law Enforcement Academy of Des Moines. He and Dawn J. Mueller were married Eldora, Dec. 7, 1946.
Sapp was an Iowa State Conservation officer for 10 years, then joined the Mt. Pleasant Police Force for 10 years. He briefly served on the Iowa Falls Force before retiring in 1980.
He was a former park custodian at Lacey-Keosauqua Park in the 1950s.
He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Iowa Falls and a past president of the Mt. Pleasant Lions Club.
Surviving are is wife, Dawn; two daughters, Brenda Beckman and Julie Clemmons, both of Iowa Falls; two grandchidrn(err), a sister, Sherlotta Struck of Steamboat Rock, and a brother, Kenneth Sapp of Farmington, Minn. Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Steven and a brother, Dale Sapp.
