Mary Gladys Harris, 87, 213 W. Hawley, formerly of rural Cantril, Iowa, died Thursday, June 1, 1989 in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Lowe in Amboy, Ill.
She was born Feb. 21, 1902 in Findlay, to John and Lillie (Daugherty) Hulett. She was a graduate of Findlay High School, attended Chicago training school and a graduate of Sparks Business College, Shelbyville.
She was married to Ernest A. Harris, Sept. 2, 1930 in Rockville, Ind. He preceded her in death March 19, 1978.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
She was a member of the Amboy United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Shirlene) Lowe of Amboy; a son, Terry D. (Beverly) Harris of Sacramento, Calif.; one granddaughter, Mrs. Stephen (Susan) Florschuetz of Sublette; two grandsons, Jeffrey (Barb) Lowe of Crystal Lake and Russell (Paula) Harris of Sacramento, Calif.; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 5 in Mihm-Jones Funeral Home, Amboy, with the Rev. Martha Zeigler, pastor of the Amboy United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial and graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Findlay Cemetery, Findlay.
A memorial has been established to Sauk Valley Hospice.
