Fred E. Stigge
Fred E. "Fritz" Stigge, 80, of Route 4, West Burlington, died at 8:17 a.m. Monday, June 19, 1989, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born April 1, 1909, in Des Moines County, he was the son of Fred and Adina M. Breuer Stigge Sr. He married Ula June Busch June 3, 1931, in Washington.
He was a farmer all his life. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church and was a former director with the Danville Telephone Co.
Surviving are his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Glendal (Paul) Polson, Burlington, Colleen Duke, Keosauqua, and Marjorie Getchell, Lanette Byerly and Jeraldine Lee, all of West Burlington; one son, Ronald Stigge, Burlington; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel.
The service for Mr. Stigge will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Peace Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Zuehls officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Peace Lutheran Church.
