Accident fatal to T. Hootman

OSKALOOSA - Tammy Hootman, 29, Oskaloosa, died Thursday night, Feb. 9, 1989, as the result of an accident while working at Rolscreen Company in Pella. She was strangled when her clothing became caught in machinery.

Mrs. Hootman was the wife of Rex and Onalee Hootman of Birmingham are her father-and mother-in-law.

She was born Dec. 15, 1959, at Oskaloosa, the daughter of Cleo F. and Velma Christophel DeWitt. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1977 and married Hootman June 29, 1985, at Oskaloosa. She was a core line operator at Rolscreen Company.

Surviving are her husband; her parents of Oskaloosa; two brothers, Gary DeWitt of Virginia Beach, Va., Dennis DeWitt of Oskaloosa; two sisters, Bonnie Richards of Oskaloosa, Cindy DeWitt of University Park; grandparents, Geneva Christophel and Lecil DeWitt, and stepgrandmother, Gail Harper, all of Oskaloosa.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Garland-VanArkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Don Messer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery at Oskaloosa. The family will be at the funeral chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. A memorial has been established to Jerry Lewis' Kids.
