Mary Olive Strang

Mary Olive Strang, 97, died Wednesday, March 1, 1989 at Phoenix, Arizona. She was born January 14, 1892 in Davis County, the daughter of Edward and Amanda Ann Gideon Parker. She attended the Troy Academy and taught in rural schools. She married John A. Strang December 29, 1921 and they lived in Selma until 1941 when they moved to Phoenix. Mr. Strang died in 1944.

Mrs. Strang worked as an alterations lady and seamstress for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, a sister and two step-children.

Surviving are a daughter, Hope Gregory of Australia, a step-daughter, June Roberts of West Fork, Arkansas, a sister, Mabel Richardson of Bloomfield, two grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren (including Max Strang of Milton and Norma Bogner of Fairfield), 4 great grandchildren, 8 step-great grandchildren and 5 step-great-great grandchildren. Services and burial were held Monday, March 6th in Phoenix.
