Orpha Breckenridge

Orpha L. Breckenridge, 93, died Feb. 11, 1989 at Good Samaritan Home in Keosauqua.

She was born Jan. 9, 1896, south of Batavia to Wilson and Mary Murphy Teeter. She had lived most of her life in Eldon. She was a 50-year member of Eastern Star and Rebekah, KroSo Club, Mary Mildred Lodge, and Legion Auxiliary in Eldon and was a former Pythian Sister of Douds. She was a member of Eldon Christian Church. She married George Breckenridge on Oct. 6, 1917, he died Dec. 11, 1968.

She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Linge of Douds and Ruth Dowell of Keosauqua; and a brother, Elmer Teeter of Ottumwa.

The service was held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 13, 1989 at Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon, the Rev. John Walton officiating. Burial was in Eldon Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to Good Samaritan Home in Keosauqua and Eldon Rescue Unit.
