Sylvia J. Miner, 67, 1006 E. Adams St., died at 12:24 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 1989 at Jefferson County Hospital.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. William J. Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport. The Rosary, recited by the Altar and Rosary Society, was scheduled for 4 p.m. today at Behner Funeral Home. Prayers for a Christian Wake will be at 7 tonight at the funeral home with visitation to follow. Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society and Fairfield Public Library.
Mrs. Miner was born Aug. 11, 1921, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of John and Gladys Bowers. She married Frank R. "Butch" Miner Dec. 20, 1947. He died Dec. 17, 1973. She had lived in the Fairfield community since 1952 and had worked as an office assistant at Miner Seed House. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Fairfield Women's Club Chorus, PEO Chapter C, and Fairfield Golf and Country Club.
She is survived by a son, Frank R. "Butch" Miner II of Fairfield; her mother of Elkhart, Ind.; two sisters, Jackie Kelley of Bristol, Ind., and Marilyn Saunders of Salem, Ore.
