Paul Winsell, 82, of Douds died Jan. 20, 1989, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
He was born Nov. 10, 1906, in Goodland, Kansas, to Fred N. and Caro E. Drake Winsell. He farmed near Selma and Douds. He graduated from Douds High School. He was a member of Mount Moriah Church, a 50-year member of Odd Fellows No. 350 and a member of Rebekah Lodge. He married Minnie B. Goehring on June 22, 1935. She died Jan. 23, 1985.
He is survived by five daughters, Wilma E. Davis of Des Moines, Lila Wells of Douds, Doris Winsell of Missouri City, Texas, Phyllis Connelly of Solon and Midge Arnold of Oelwein; a son, William of Ottumwa; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Reva Metcalf of Leon and Elvona Taylor of Libertyville; and a brother, Newt of Chippita Park, Colo.
The service was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 1989 at the Lebanon United Methodist Church, the Rev. Steve Metcalf-Conte officiating. Burial was in Mount Moriah Cemetery, north of Douds.
Memorials have been established to his church and the cemetery, Lebanon United Methodist Church or Good Samaritan Home in Keosauqua.
Arrangements were in charge of Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon.
