The mysterious disappearance of Perl Carter on a visit to his brother, Charles, at Keokuk remains a mystery. Perl is a likable young man, always ready to help one in distress. His foster mother, Mrs. Mattie Jack, is greatly worried over his long absence, and no news of his whereabouts.

That he had been working on a farm and had a sum of money makes his absence very strange. We trust the coming week may clear for Perl and that good news may give his destination and relieve the suspense.
