Looking for parents and siblings of Samuel R. BALLARD and his wife Eliza HAFER, residents of Afton, Iowa from 1856 to 1892. Their children were Labin L. (“L.L.”), m. Sarah A. Laughery; Josiah W., m. Nancy Jane Husband; Amanda Ellen, m. Martin Luther Carl; Thomas E., m. Jane B. Thompson; Emiline E. (“E.E.”), m. Charles K. Ingham; and Marion (or Stephen). Would like to correspond with anyone researching BALLARD and/or HAFER/HAFFER families who are known to have migrated from Guernsey or Washington counties in Ohio to Union County, Iowa and surrounding area in the 1800’s.
