Obituary

Sarah Kilgore Holt, daughter of John and Atocia Kilgore was born in Taylor County, Iowa, near Lenox, February 27, 1863, and departed this life October 27, 1932 at her home in Creston, at the age of 69 years and eight months.

Miss Kilgore as married to Casswell Holt December 3 (? maybe 2), 1885. In the spring of 1886 they drove upland in a covered wagon to Long Pine, Nebraska. There they lived for five years until the winter of 1891 when they moved north of Lenox, Iowa. the rest of her life was spent in Taylor, Adams, and Union counties and the last fourteen years in Creston.

Four sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Holt, three of Verner, Harley, and Harry preceded their mother in death. Mrs. Holt is survived by her husband C.[Caswell] Holt and one son J. T. Holt and one granddaughter Mrs. Gladys Powers and brother John Kilgore and one sister Mary Kilgore both of Cromwell, and several nieces and nephews and many ___friends. Besides her three sons, her parents seven brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
