Funeral services for Georgianna Bacon will be held at 1:30 PM Monday at Coen Home for Funerals. Rev. [unreadable] pastor of the Creston Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery at Cromwell. Her body will lie in state at the funeral home until time of services. The casket will not be opened after the services.
Miss Bacon, 83, died at the [unreadable] Nursing Home here at 10:33 a.m. Friday after a year's illness. She was a retired school teacher and housekeeper.
Georgianna Bacon was born in Adams County, March 18, 1882. She was the daughter of Charles Henry and Mary Eliza Harrington Bacon. She had never married.
Miss Bacon spent most of her life in the Creston community but lived in Illinois from 1943 until she returned to Creston in 1954.
She is survived by four nieces. Mrs. Hazel Smock of Peoria, Illinois, Mrs. John Nord of Creston, Helen Baker of Kellerton, and Mrs. Mildred Cheek of Corning and two nephews Harry Smock of Cromwell and Charles Bacon in Indiana.
She was a member of the Congregational Church.
