Man dies at Three Mile LakeWilliam Louis Brown , 48, of Murray died of injuries sutained while hangling a parasail 3:45 p.m. Sunday.
According to a Union County Sheriff report, Brown, his brother and a group of friends were drying out a parasail on the main boat ramp at Three Mile Lake. The parasail knocked Brown over, causing him to strike his head on the concrete.
Brown was transported to Greater Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

William "Bill" Louis Brown 48, of Murray died September 19, 2004 at Greater Community Hospital in Creston from injuries sustained in an accident.Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 23, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola. The Rev. Don Hill will officiate the service. Burial will be in Murray Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Today at the funeral home in Osceola. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Mr. Brown, son of Patricia Joan Tharp Brown Alexander and George William Brown, was born August 21, 1956 in Des Moines. He graduated from Murray High School. He was a farmer and painter. He served in the U.S. Navy. Bill loved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, para-sailing, boating and water sports of all kinds. He was a longtime member of the Catfish Club. He was Baptized at the Church of Christ in Murray.
Survivors include his significant other, Mary Saville of Murray; sons Jason Brown and wife Sherry of Kansas City, Missouri and Shawn Brown and wife Cherie of Ankeny, Iowa; mother, Patricia Alexander of Murray, Iowa; brothers, Patrick Alexander of Des Moines, Iowa and Daniel Tharp of Truro, Iowa; sister, Jeanette K. Brown of Murray, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Jordan, Brendon and Tayler; grandmother, Mazye Mikesell of Murray as well as other relatives and many friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his father in 1995.
NOTE: Bill is buried in the Browns Mountain Cemetery.
