Della A. Flowers
Della A. Flowers, 83, of Toledo, died Monday, July 25, 2005, at Grandview Acres in Toledo. A graveside service was held Monday, Aug. 1, at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Toldeo, officiated by Pastor Dewey Grimes.
Born Sept. 15, 1921, in Polk City, she was the daughter of Clyde and Josie Temple (Norris) Crabtree. She attended Tama High School. On Dec. 28, 1940, Lancaster, Mo., she married Darlo Flowers. She was a homemaker and also was employed with the Tama VFW and the Office of Toledo. Flowers was a member of the Assembly of God Church and of the Red Hat Club at Grandview Acres. Survivor include one son, Arthur (June)Flowers of Warsaw, Mo., two daughters, Darla Kvidera of Champaign, Ill., and Trudie (Harold) Jacobs of Elkhart, Ind., one brother, Edgar Crabtree of Tama; three sisters, Esther Pillard of Tama, Gertrude Redmon of Des Moines and Maxine O'Hara of North Mankato, Minn; and 12 grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Darlo, on May 13, 1976; and one brother, Joseph Crabtree. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Aviary fund at Grandview Acres, the Iowa River Hospice of Marshalltown or the Iowa Juvenile Home to purchase books for the library. Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, handled local arrangements.
