DAVID ANDERSON

David Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Sorensen, passed away Sept. 16 at his home in Williams after a long illness with cancer of the throat. He was bedfast four weeks, three of which were spent at the hospital in Iowa City. He returned to his home in Williams Sept. 9, at which time he took a cold which developed into pneumonia, from which he died.

He was born at Stupprub, Denmark July 28, 1865, and came to Story City with his parents when he was eight years old. He grew to manhood in this community and followed the blacksmith trade for 50 years in Story City and the last 13 years at Williams.

He was united in marriage to Mary Jorgenson of Story City on May 21, 1882. To this union six children were born. Two preceded him in death, and four remain besides his wife, to mourn his loss, besides many other relatives and friends.

Andrew and Alfreda preceded him in death. The living are Anna Wike of Foley, Alabama, Hannah Hoffman of Story City, Mortinus Anderson of Michigan, N. D., and Fred of Williams. He also leaves 20 grandchildren.

His parents, four brothers and five sister preceded him in death, leaving one brother, John of Houston Heights, Texas.
