SEVERIN T. BRATTEBO DIED VERY QUICKLY

Well Known Local Businessman Died of Stroke New Year's Day--Funeral Service Held Yesterday

The last rites for Severin T. Brattebo were haled in the St. Petri church and the Fairview cemetery yesterday afternoon, with a large concourse of relatives and friends gathered to do homage to a well beloved citizen and friend.

Death had come to him very quickly. He was not feeling well Sunday morning, having an intensive headache, and died at 4 o'clock in the afternoon from a stroke. He had filled his 61st year Dec. 16.

Obituary

Severin T. Brattebo was born in Brattebo, Norway, Dec. 16, 1877, and came to this country as a young man 41 years ago. In 1910 he was married to Julia Brattebo, to which union three children were born, Mrs. Harold Reimer and Byron of Milwaukee, Wis., and Robert at home. His wife and children survive him.

He and his family have always made their home here, except for three years they lived at Perry, and was associated in the grocery business with his father-in-law. The last year or two the two families lived together.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon, Rev. Nelson officiating both at the home and in St. Petri church. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery. The pall bearers were Albert Larson, Dr. A. L. Born, Martin Townswick, C. J. Idse. The St. Petri choir sang two selections and Mrs. Lester Henderson rendered a vocal solo.

Among those from a distance present at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Brattebo of Boone, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lothe, Victor Lothe and Selma Johnson of Thor; A. L. Johnson and son of Slater, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Brattebo. Mrs. Gurina Brattebo and Mr. and Mrs. John N. Brattebo of Ellsworth. The children, too, were all present.

The sudden departure of Mr. Brattebo caused a real feeling of grief and loss among the people of the town, as he had always proven himself most genial person to meet and associate with, and all join in deep sympathy with the bereaved family.
