ANNA SEVEREIDE FATLAND
Mrs. Anna Severeide Fatland was born Sept. 17, 1858, in Skaanevik, Norway, and came to America with her parents in the spring of 1881. They located in Story City, where she made her home until her marriage to Hector Fatland of Huxley in 1883. Her husband passed away in 1907, but she continued to live at Huxley until July, 1931, when she moved to the Sunset Home at Story City.
She has been in failing health the last years, and suffered a stroke Sunday morning, Oct. 23, and passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 9 days.
She leaves to mourn her passing, one son, Ed Fatland of Des Moines, two sisters, Mrs. Engel Olson of Jewell and Mrs. Wier Ritland of Huxley, and three brothers, Sam Severaid of Des Moines, S. J. Severaid of Boone and R. J. Severaid of Fort Worth, Texas. Also many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
For many years she was a faithful member of Fjeldberg church at Huxley, but since coming to Story City she had held membership in the St. Petri church.
