Mrs. M. Oswald Died Friday
The funeral services for Mrs. Matt Oswald, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lewis Larson, west of Story City, were held Monday afternoon. A prayer service was held in the Grace church, with Rev. G. L. Bergemean officiating.
The singing was by a quartet composed of Mrs. Everett Anderson, Dorothy Ahens, George Sowers and Arnold Anderston with Vernon Anderson at the piano. The pall bearers were Nels Larson, Iver Larson, R. L. Haugland, Homer Jackson, J. A. Johnson and Will Holm.

Rev. Bergeman read the following obituary preceding his sermon;
Lydia Ellen Dunaway Oswald was born near Chetopa, Kan., Nov. 21, 1871, and departed this life June 11, 1937 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lewis Larson. She was thus 65 years and 7 months old.
At the age of six month she came with her parents to Monroe, Iowa, where her early life was spent. On Nov. 27, 1895, she was united in marriage to Matt Oswald. To this union six children were born, five daughters and one son, three of whom with the husband survive to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother, namely, Amelia Larson, Beulah Horness and Mable Tesdall. She also leaves eleven grandchildren, six sisters and two brothers, besides a host of friends.
At the age of 21 she united with the Christian church at Monroe continuing steadfast in the faith of the Gospel to the end. Though a constant sufferer for years she was patient and uncomplaining, perfectly reconciled to the will of her Heavenly Father.
