Funeral services for Mrs. Herbert (Mildred) Howell, 69, former New Liberty postmaster, will be held at Peace Church of Christ United, Bennett, at 10 a.m. today (April 26) 1989 with the Rev. D. L. Gardella officiating. Burial will be in the New Liberty cemetery.

Mrs. Howell died at Mercy hospital, Davenport, April 23.

The daughter of Ewell and Velda Bowen, she was born in Hiawatha, Utah July 2, 1919 and was married to Herbert Howell at Price, Utah June 7, 1947. She was a WAVE in World War II.

The couple lived in the New Liberty area for 34 years. She was a member of the National Association of Postmasters and the Polka Club of Iowa.

Mrs. Howell is survived by her husband; 5 sons, Gerald, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Timothy, New Liberty; Thomas, Bradenton, Fla.; Stanley, Maysville and Rodney, Des Moines; a daughter, Mary, Key Largo, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a brother, Robert Bowen, Salt Lake City, Utah.
