Julia was born 11 November 1907 in Davenport, Scott County, IA dtr of Bowman Joseph and Loretta Miclot Eldridge. She attended Sacred Heart School and the Immaculate Conception Academy in Davenport (a private Catholic girls high school which no longer exists - was on Palmer Chiropractic College campus).
She worked for Gordon Van Tine Lumber Co. making catalogs, and M. L. Parker Co. dept store on the nw corner of 2nd and Main in downtown Davenport as head of the marketing dept.
On 31 December 1928 she married Dr. Rudolph Albert Doering in Holy Name Cathedral, Chicago, Cook County, IL. Dr. Doering had a son by his first wife, Anna, Richard Harold Doering, born in Davenport.
Albert was born 16 September 1890 in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, the adopted son of Wilhelm and Christina Luders Doering. The family came to Davenport in 1897 where Dr. Doering graduated from Brown's Business College and the Northern Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He returend to Davenport to begin his practice.
Dr. Doering died 12 February 1973 in Davenport. He is buried in Davenport's Memorial Park Cemetery. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Julia lived at their home 1131 W. 16th and was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral. She died 14 May 1999 in Davenport(SSDI) and is probably buried with her husband.
They had 2 children: Donald Joseph b 25 Dec 1930 in Davenport, and Jeanette Mary b 22 August 1933 in Davenport.The Eldridge-Bawden Families, Alice Richardson Sloane, CG, 1986, 293 pgs.
