Died, December 22, 1888, Henry F. Crisco, of Jefferson township, Ringgold county, Iowa, at Burlington, where he met with the fatal accident that resulted in his death, while on his way to Chicago with a car load of cattle. He was just ready to leave Burlington when, by the neglect of someone in the switch yards, a car fell over on him, crushing his limb and bruising him. He was taken to the hospital, where he received the best of care. His family was summoned, and went. Everything was done for his relief, but he never got any better. He grew weaker, but with all consciousness till the last breath and manifested his willingness to die. He died trusting in his God. He was an enterprising farmer and stock dealer, always fair and kind in his dealings with all. He was born in Gilford County, North Carolina, January 15, 1845. In 1858, he removed to Tennessee with his parents, and from there to Stark County, Illinois, where he was principally raised, and where he was intending to visit friends before his return from this fatal trip. Thence he removed to Iowa in ’69 where he has since remained. He was married January 1, 1871, to Miss Christina Casner. He leaves a wife and four children, a father, two brothers, a sister, and many friends to mourn his loss. He died on the morning of December 22nd, at 5 o’clock; was brought home on the 23d, and the funeral was conducted on the 24th by Rev. D. Mills, of Isadora, Mo., at the Baptist church in Tingley. His remains were laid to rest in Tingley cemetery, to await the dawn of the resurrection.
