Gaule, Curtis Dean -
Curtis Dean Gaule of Dacona, CO was born on January 25, 1949 and departed
this life on September 5, 2008 at the age of 59 years 7 months and 11 days.
He passed away at the Collier Hospice Center in Wheatridge, CO. Seven days
prior he was diagnosed with advance liver cancer.
Curtis, son of Marvin Arthur and Eula Jean Nevill Gaule, was the youngest of
three children. He was welcomed home by sisters, Patsy and Betty. His entire
youth was spent in Clearfield. He was active with the Methodist Church in his
youth. Curtis graduated from Clearfield Community School in 1967.
He was united in marriage on June 25, 1970 to Nancy Crandall in Bedford, Iowa.
At the heart of things Curtis was always a small town Iowa boy. He took those
values, his bride and in 1972 followed a friend to Broomfield, CO. They
were blessed with a son, Shane Curtis and daughter, Shilah Jean. Sixteen years
later they were divorced. He then married Sharon Lynn Brown and welcomed
Heather Michelle Brown as his stepdaughter. To this union was born a daughter,
Cassandra Earleen Brown and a son, Marvin Jonathan J. They were later
divorced.
His employment took him all over the foothills extending from Castle Rock, CO
to Longmont, CO. In 2005 he retired in Dacono, CO from being a mechanic;
however, he never stopped creating things. He took pride in the creations he
built and in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.
Curtis loved the outdoors. Along with family and dear friends, he enjoyed hunting,
dirt-bike riding, and camping. He will be remembered for his humor, friendship,
and generosity. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Survivors include daughter, Shilah (husband Nick) Low; sons Shane (wife Brandee)
Gaule and Marvin (fiance Ashley Perschbacher) Gaule; step-daughter Heather
(husband Michael) Deering; five grand children: Brittany Meehan, Abigail Gaule,
Hagen Low, Wyatt and Weslie Deering all of Colorado.
Two sisters, Patsy L. (husband Bob) Arnold and Betty S. Gaule; three special
aunts: Ruby McGahuey, Verla Main and Rose (husband Jim) Hamilton; nieces,
nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his
parents and infant daughter Cassandra.
Following cremation a memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. at Faith Bible
Chapel in Arvada, CO on September 27, 2008. Immediately following
the service his children will host a Celebration of Curtis' Life with an
open house at the Gaule's home in Golden.
Interment in the Clearfield Cemetery in Clearfield, Iowa at a later date.
Local survivors: Sister, Patsy L. Arnold, Shannon City, IA and Aunt,
Rose Hamilton, Creston, Iowa.
