Larsen, Helen Nocton -
Helen Larsen, daughter of William T. and Nellie M. (Shelby) Nocton was born on
June 7, 1924 near Tarkio, Missouri and departed this life on October 23, 2006 at the
Clearview Home in Clearfield, Iowa.
She attended Westboro, Missouri schools. She was united in marriage to Glenn
Larsen on November 5, 1949. They lived in Clearfield most of their 55 years of married
life.
Helen and Glenn were very active and involved in the Clearfield community, for years
they helped with the shuttle buses at the Iowa State Fair, she was a school bus driver,
worked for Juergens Insurance, and cooked at Clearview Homes and the Clearfield Meal
Site.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Karen and husband Jerry Horton of
Richland, Iowa, grandson Bob Horton of Fairfield, Iowa, Gary and wife Sara Horton of
Fort Wayne, Indiana and great grandchildren Trevor, Taylor and Samantha Horton all of
Fort Wayne; sisters Dorothea Larsen of Clearfield and Martha McRinley of Salida,
California; brother Marvin Nocton of Malvern, Iowa; brothers-in-law Jim and wife
Eleanor Larsen of Decatur, Alabama and Carroll Polsley of Clarinda, Iowa; sister-in-law
Darlene Larsen of Diagonal; Iowa and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Ann Polsley, 5 brothers-in-
law, and 2 sisters-in-law.
Services were held Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the United
Methodist Church in Clearfield, Iowa with Rev. Gerry Kahler officiating.
Burial took place in the Clearfield Cemetery.
