OBITUARY ~ HUGH ALBERT TEALE

Hugh Albert (Pop) Teale, Sr. son of Albert Henry and Mary Frances (Leachman) Teale was born on August 3, 1887 at Kellerton, Iowa.

On May 26, 1915, he was united in marriage to Minnie Belle Miller and four children were born to this union.

Pop Teale, so named by the school kids, was known for his years in the restaurant business and since 1932 in Panora, when he purchased the restaurant across from the high school.

Pop also served on the Panora Fire Department, loved to fish and especially loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all the kids of the community. He loved to tell of the history he felt blessed to have seen in his lifetime and was able to live out his life in his little house, because of his family and many friends who always cred for him.

During his life he saw the passing of his parents, wife, two sons, one daughter, two brothers and two sisters. Remembering him are his son and wife, Hugh and Merna Teale of Panora; one sister, Estella Ryan of Saratoga, Wyoming; three grand-children; nine great-grand-children, and many other relatives and friends.

On January 27, 1977, Pop Teale passed away at the Craft Care Center in Panora. Services were held Monday, Jan. 31, 1977 at 10:30 a.m., at the O.J. Beidelman Funeral Home in Panora. Interment was at the Kellerton Cemetery.
